Moonstone was found near Kimmirut, a small hamlet along the southern coast of Baffin Island, Nunavut in 2004.  The stones from Kimmirut range in colour from orange brown to a lovely shade of orange with a whitish sheen. High quality stones weighing more than 10 carats have been cut, although most stones are lighter.
